I have so many happy memories uncle John especially when I was growing up in the sixties. (Contrary to popular belief, I did grow up!). Some of the things that stand out in my mind are the family get togethers, usually at Christmas/Boxing day or someone's birthday. These happenings always included Ann and John, Nan & Grandad, mum and dad, Pat and Ron, Ian, Colin and all the various cousins and pets! Often these events were at Aunty Pat's & Uncle Ron's in Osborne Road. In my memory the cousins would be to banished to the garden or the rec. This would invariably involve either cricket or football, depending time of year and gender (sorry Heather) and would always be best when both John and Ian came out to show us how it should be done! As we all grew a little older, I remember same get togethers, now with husbands, wives and grand children in tow but the standout memory was always uncle John who'd pulled me aside and tell me twenty or so, increasingly rude jokes! And they were the best! Happy days. Love you uncle John. You are sorely missed and we send our heartfelt condolences to both Ann, John and Jemma.. Love from David and Lucy.
With fond memories.
